Managed book design and production for Reading and Language Art programs such as “The Write Direction”, “MCP Plaid Phonics”, “Comprehension Plus”, and “Chapter Books”. Art directed and designed book jackets interiors for children’s trade books including “The Humane Societies”, “Jimmy Carter”, “Colin Powell”, “HealthWatch” series, and “Money Book’s Common Sense” series. - Designed Prototypes for new or revised programs.
- Led art direction for in-house photo shoots and involved in art and photo selection for
fiction/non-fiction books.
- Negotiated, contracted and supervised illustrators to meet the grade appropriate style
and specifications of the book.
- Partnered with editorial and production staff to ensure a well-thought out, quality product.
- Collaborated with Editors to develop children’s trade book covers and interiors to capture
the essence of the book and grab the readers’ attention.
- Effectively managed in-house and external designers on complex special projects to achieve
budget, quality, timeliness and specific contract obligations.
- Designed posters and brochures for marketing, Simon & Schuster’s Holiday Party invitation
and poster, and packaging for resource kits and collateral material.

MULTIMEDIA SPECIALIST
Designed and prepared all graphics for Corporate Communications Department including advertising, trade shows, marketing, audiovisual and public relations. Supervised freelancers on MacroMind Director for trade show presentations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Trade Shows.
- Coordinated projects from concept through completion with printers, photographers and
freelancers including communicating directly with clients to create products that met
specific customer marketing objectives.
- Led art directing, storyboarding and preparation of all graphics for PowerPoint multimedia presentations including producing all in-house material using desktop publishing.
- Researched and compiled information on new software applications for possible internal use.
- Produced graphics for national sales meetings and conferences, later adapted as model
for international meeting themes.
- Redesigned company’s A/V specifications to conform to corporate standards.

Designed the corporate identity program for the organization. Built a production department in a fast growing environment to meet all necessary client needs. Responsible for storyboarding, designing and specing layouts for graphics and business presentations for corporate, marketing and pharmaceutical clientele such as Hoffman LaRoche, J&J & Ortho Pharmaceuticals. Supervised staff of ten.
- Instrumental in growth and success of start-up organization that drove the creative end of
the business resulting in three shifts to consistently meet client deliverables.
- Estimated projects, tracked expenses, and advised clients to ensure on-target, on-budget projects.
- Developed and managed production flow of Genigraphics presentations from initial
stage to completion, including preparing company manual and departmental procedures
to ensure quality and consistency.
- Contracted with and managed freelancers to produce finished product on time.
- Interfaced with executives, account staff and clients to streamline production and resolve problems.
- Supported account executives with new business pitches/presentations and serviced accounts at
all levels, from initial presentation through production of promotional materials.
